Conceptos básicos e importantes
En nuestra Asociación estamos extremadamente implicados con los procesos de adopción y el bienestar de nuestros gatos. No nos tomamos esto a la ligera, pues cuando algo no sale bien, siempre, el más perjudicado, es el gato.
Entregar a nuestros gatos en buenas condiciones de salud, lo más estables en su sistema emocional y comportamiento, para nosotros, es muy importante.
Informaros de todo lo que atañe al gato: su historia, tratamientos, comportamiento, también es una de nuestras máximas.
Pedimos por tu parte la misma implicación, basada en los siguientes fundamentos:
Leer bien todo el proceso de adopción y seguir nuestras instrucciones. Está todo pautado, probado y sabemos que funciona. No actúes por libre, es tan fácil como seguir punto por punto. Somos muy estrictos con esto, nos adaptamos a cada proceso, pero debes seguir nuestras indicaciones siempre.
Recuerda que para que este proceso salga adelante, necesitamos tu implicación y compromiso en el mismo. Si detectamos falta de interés, de comunicación, falsedad o algo que nos genere desconfianza, podemos cancelar el proceso en el momento que lo consideremos justificado.
Solicitamos buena comunicación. Siempre queremos entender vuestra situación, a veces cambiante, y apoyaros en el proceso de adopción, adaptación y durante toda la vida del gato. Pero no podemos ayudaros en asuntos que desconocemos. Escríbenos siempre que lo necesites, cuéntanos y pregúntanos. No esperes a recibir nuestros seguimientos, eres más que bienvenido para escribirnos y preguntarnos siempre que lo necesites.
Iniciar el proceso siempre que se vaya a adoptar en próximas fechas (no más de un mes vista). No podemos “bloquear” gatos durante semanas, pudiendo estar en un hogar con una familia. Cuando creas que puedes realizar la adopción próximamente, estaremos encantados de recibir tu solicitud.
Es importante también que entiendas y aceptes lo siguiente:
Que una adopción es algo definitivo, para toda la vida del gato, aunque la tuya cambie o sufra altibajos. El gato deberá acompañarte, y tú te comprometes a garantizarle atención veterinaria, de comportamiento, y una buena calidad de vida.
Que durante el proceso de adopción se te informará del estado de salud y personalidad del gato, pero que es un ser vivo. Que puede haber sorpresas y que, desde la adopción, es tu responsabilidad hacerles frente. Nosotros te acompañamos y te asesoramos siempre que lo necesites, durante toda la vida del gato, pero el responsable en último lugar, serás tú.
Que tener un gato requiere de contar con unos fondos económicos de emergencia. Que no es abonar el proceso de adopción y comprar todas sus cosas únicamente, sino tener previsto que puede haber accidentes, urgencias veterinarias (incluso al poco de adoptarlo), o problemas de adaptación o comportamiento. Debes prever esto y, si ocurre, deberás atenderle debidamente.

Responsabilities
At our association, we are extremely involved in the adoption process and the welfare of our cats. We do not take this lightly, because when something goes wrong, it is always the cat that suffers the most.
It is very important to us that our cats are in good health and as emotionally and behaviourally stable as possible.
We are keeping you informed about everything related to cats: their history, treatments, behaviour, because that is also one of our top priorities.
We ask for the same commitment on your part, based on the following principles:
Read the entire adoption process carefully and follow our instructions. Everything has been planned and tested, and we know it works. Do not attempt to do it alone; it is as simple as following the steps one by one. We are very strict about this. We adapt to each process, but you must always follow our instructions.
Remember that for this process to succeed, we need your involvement and commitment. If we detect a lack of interest, communication, dishonesty, or anything else that causes us to mistrust the applicant, we may cancel the process at any time we deem justified.
We request good communication. We are always open to understand your situation, which can sometimes change, and support you throughout the adoption and adaptation process and throughout the cat's life. However, we cannot assist you with matters about which we have no knowledge. Write to us whenever you need to, tell us about it and ask us questions. Please do not wait for our follow-ups; you are welcome to write to us and ask us questions whenever you wish.
Start the process when it is expected that you are going to adopt in the near future (within a month). We cannot keep cats ‘on hold’ for weeks when they also could be in a home with a family. When you feel ready to proceed with the adoption, we will be delighted to receive your application.
It is also important that you understand and accept the following:
That adoption is a permanent commitment, for the cat's entire life, even if your life changes or goes through ups and downs. The cat must be with you and you will have to commit to providing it with veterinary care, behavioural therapy and a good quality of life.
During the adoption process, you will be informed of the cat's health and personality, but keep in mind that it is a living being. Surprises also may occur and keep in mind that, from the moment of adoption, it is your responsibility to care for them. We will accompany and advise you whenever you need it, throughout your cat's life, but ultimately, you will be responsible.
Also remember that owning a cat requires having emergency funds available. It is not just a matter of paying for the adoption procedure and purchasing all the necessary items, but also taking potential accidents, veterinary emergencies (even shortly after adoption), or adjustment or behavioural issues into account. You must anticipate this and, if it occurs, you must deal with it appropriately.
