Ya seas un novato sin experiencia en gatos, como si ya has convivido (o estás conviviendo) con gatos, es un hecho que no sabemos todo sobre ellos. Hasta nosotros seguimos aprendiendo, día tras día, cosas nuevas de ellos...
El Curso Básico del Gato es una formación obligatoria para todos nuestros adoptantes, desde que iniciamos nuestro proyecto en 2013. Es un curso gratuito al que tendrás acceso siempre que sigas siendo socio de nuestra entidad. Pedimos que lo realices antes de recoger al gato, y podrás revisarlo más adelante, siempre que te haga falta.
Son varios vídeos con una duración en torno a las 3 horas, con capítulos individuales sobre etología, psicología, salud, nutrición, territorio, comunicación, adaptación... Para nosotros es vital que esta información llegue a las familias, antes incluso de que el gato llegue al hogar, o incluso de que se compren los enseres para él.
En añadido, creemos que es importante ser humildes y querer aprender del animal con el que vas a convivir durante más de una década. No tener interés en conocer su naturaleza y necesidades, denota falta de preocupación por el bienestar del gato. Y eso no es buena señal en un proceso de adopción y convivencia.

Completing the course
Whether you are a beginner with no experience with cats, or have lived with cats (or still do), the fact is that we do not know everything about them. Even we continue to learn new things about them every day…
The Basic Cat Course has been mandatory training for all our adopters since we started our project in 2013. It is a free course that you will have access to as long as you remain a member of our organisation. We ask that you complete this before picking up the cat, and you can review it later, whenever you need to.
There are several videos lasting around 3 hours, with individual chapters on ethology, psychology, health, nutrition, territory, communication, adaptation... It is crucial for us that this information reaches families before the cat even arrives in the home, or even before they buy supplies for it.
In addition, we believe it is important to be humble and willing to learn from the animal you are going to live with for more than a decade. Not taking an interest in learning about their nature and needs shows a lack of concern for the cat's well-being. And that is not a good sign in a process of adoption and coexistence.
