Conceptos básicos e importantes
La entrevista es muy importante, porque cada familia sois un universo y, cada gato, también. Este tiempo individual de tú a tú, nos ayuda a saber qué gatos pueden encajar o no con tu familia, espacio, tiempo o expectativas. Un gato que pudiera encajar perfectamente con una familia, puede ser un grave problema de adaptación y convivencia en otra. Y lo que buscamos es el gato con el que tú quieras pasar toda su vida, pero que sea una opción viable, con posibilidades de una buena convivencia.
Las entrevistas siempre se realizan en formato online, a través de Google Meets. Es importante que si sois varias personas en el hogar, estéis la mayoría presentes. Y no hacemos excepciones con menores; toda persona menor de edad tiene que estar presente en la entrevista sí o sí, porque si los adultos somos diferentes unos de otros, los peques, más todavía...
Buscamos 4 objetivos principales:
Conocerte. Que nos cuentes todo lo que quieras, que hayamos preguntado, o no, en el formulario, y que nos ayude a conocerte. Experiencias pasadas, preocupaciones, cómo eres o tu día a día. Lo que quieras, que consideres que es información importante para ti o para nosotros.
Que resuelvas todas tus dudas actuales sobre convivir con un nuevo gato. Durante toda vuestra vida juntos, van a surgir problemas y dudas, sobre salud, comportamiento o incluso legal. Nosotros siempre estaremos ahí para apoyarte, siempre. Pero ahora es el punto de inflexión en el que tienes que tomar la decisión de adoptar o no, con nosotros, y a este gato, o aquel, o el de más allá...
Por nuestra parte, te hablaremos de la vida y milagros de todos nuestros gatetes. Puede que nos centremos en uno o dos por los que hayas preguntado, o que te presentemos a unos pocos que encajen contigo, para que vengas de nuevo a conocerles y puedas tomar una decisión. Te hablaremos de su historia, estado de salud, personalidad, energía, expectativas en la convivencia, etc.
Resolveremos tus dudas sobre este proceso de adopción. Aunque está todo muy bien explicadito aquí, en ocasiones tenéis dudas de cómo seguir adelante, costes, fechas o recomendaciones. Insistimos en que no hay duda pequeña. Cualquier pregunta que tengas, háznosla, tenemos una respuesta seguro.
Se pide confirmación de las entrevistas, así como puntualidad. Igualmente, es tu responsabilidad haber leído toda esta información. Si en la entrevista detectamos que no la has leído, podemos finalizarla de forma precipitada y justificada. Valoramos tú tiempo y el nuestro.
Si todo va bien en este punto, estamos ambas partes cómodas con seguir adelante, comenzará realmente el proceso de adopción. Puede que sea con un gato concreto y claro para todos, o que sea aconsejable volver de visita a La Gatoteca, en cuyo caso, “te invitaremos a los gatos”.

The online interview
The interview is very important, because every family is unique, and so is every cat. This one-on-one interview helps us determine which cats may or may not be a good fit for your family, space, time, or expectations. A cat that might fit perfectly into one family could be a serious problem in terms of adaptation and coexistence in another. And what we are looking for is not only the cat you want to spend your whole life with, but one that is a good fit, with the potential for a happy life together.
Interviews are always conducted online, through Google Meets. It is important that if there are several people in the household, most of them should be present. And we make no exceptions for minors; every minor must be present at the interview, because if adults are different from one another, children are even more so...
We have four main objectives:
Getting to know you. Tell us everything you want to tell us, whether we asked for it in the form or not, and help us get to know you. Past experiences, concerns, what you are like, or your daily life. Whatever you wish, whatever you consider to be important information for you or for us.
That you can resolve all your current doubts about living with a new cat. Throughout your life together, problems and doubts will arise, whether about health, behaviour or even legal issues. We will always be there to support you, always. But now is the turning point where you have to make the decision whether or not to adopt, with us, this cat, or that one, or the one over there...
For our part, we will tell you about the lives and wonders of all our cats. We may focus on one or two cats that you have asked about, or we may introduce you to a few cats that are a good fit for you, so that you can come back to meet them and make a decision. We will tell you about their history, health, personality, energy, expectations for living together, etc.
We will answer any questions you may have about this adoption process. Although everything is explained very clearly here, sometimes you may have questions about how to proceed, costs, dates, or recommendations. We insist that there is no small doubt. If you have any questions, please ask us; we are confident that we have an answer.
Confirmation of interviews is requested, as well as punctuality. It is also your responsibility to have read all this information. If we detect during the interview that you have not read it, we may end it abruptly and justifiably. We value your time and ours.
If everything is going well at this point, and both parties are comfortable moving forward, the adoption process will truly begin. It may be with a specific cat that is obvious to everyone, or it may be advisable to return to La Gatoteca, in which case, ‘we will invite you to the cats’.
